I present the flags of all the world’s 196 recognized nations next to each other with margins of one centimeter on a tilted pedestal. Their sumptuous range of colors is reduced to tones of grey printed on rigid zinc plate substrates. This yields a different slant on the ordered array of national symbols – the view of a funeral ceremony for the old “world order”.
