8 flags of G8 states printed in negative colors | each 200x300 cm
On the promenade in front of the KIT (Kunst im Tunnel) exhibition building in Düsseldorf, I hoisted and filmed the in negative colors printed flags of the G-8 countries after eachtoher. These videos can be seen on eight screens in the exhibition space. By converting the color values again into negative, the flags appear here in their original colorfulness. The work plays with our visual expectations on several levels, making visual ruptures visible and at the same time addressing notions of collective identity.
I presented this work at the European Parliament in Brussels in 2018 and it was realized as Kunst-am-Bau in Dresden in 2019.
